Who we are

The Communications Commission of Kiribati (CCK), formerly known as the Telecommunications Authority of Kiribati (TAK), was established under the Communications Act 2013. It has a mandate to regulate the national telecommunications market and create a fair and competitive environment that promotes innovation and benefits consumers.

A digitally connected Kiribati where all people have equitable access to affordable, reliable and inclusive communications services.

Mission

To regulate, facilitate and invest in sustainable communications development that expands universal access, empowers communities and advances national digital inclusion.

Our core functions include:

• Licensing communications networks and service providers
• Managing radio spectrum assignments and telephone numbering
• Registering and administering the .ki country-code domaim
• Type-approving electronic devices that emit analog or digital signals
• Enforcing technical standards for equipment connected to licensed networks

CCK supports the Government of Kiribati's priority of connectedness — ensuring every individual, including those on the outer islands, has access to reliable and affordable digital communications.
